THE GUY

First and foremost, I'm a Christian. I believe that every man is a sinner in need of a Savior. I believe that salvation is a free gift of God to any man who believes on His Son, Jesus Christ. I believe that I'm going to Heaven when I die, but not because of anything I've done. I believe that the Bible is the Word of God and that it holds absolute truth in its pages. I believe that God holds my future in His hands. I believe that His. Grace. Is. Sufficient.

So yeah. I believe a lot of things. xD If you have any questions about any of that, feel free to hop on over to my contact page and shoot me an email! I love talking about my faith, and I would be thrilled to discuss some of these things. :D

If you've hung around here for any amount of time (or payed any amount of attention to my blog banner...), you probably also know that I love to read and write. I've currently written two first drafts, and I'm making my way through the adventurous phases of editing/rewriting.

I'll read just about anything, as long as it's clean and doesn't blatantly go against my faith. I post reviews for just about everything I read on Goodreads, so you can stalk me there if you want.

I'm also a ninja, but I'm not explaining that any further. Just don't tell anyone and I won't have to find where you live. xD

(And: for the record, this is easily the most professional and least random "about me" that I have ever written. #win Except now half of the comments below don't relate to this page AT ALL. Whoops.)

  1. Hi Jonathan! I saw your comment on GTW and thought I'd check out your blog. It's pretty cool to find another extroverted writer, I think most are introverted... Family of ten? So cool! I have 7 younger siblings. And, for a few years of my life my dad was a pastor too :)
I don't care for coffee too much either lol

  2. Hey! Looks like we have many mutual blog buddies but have yet to actually meet...soooo hello! Your blog is absolutely lovely, I'm looking forward to having a look around some more. Also! Another extroverted writer here. Usually extroverted...when I'm thinking hard, I have a tendency to just shut down and stare into space (which usually happens to be people. Makes for awkward situations), but hey, whatcha gonna do? Cheers for big families (oldest of seven, one in heaven), cookie dough ice cream (also a big cookies and cream fan-- anything for Oreos, I tell you), musicalness (can only kind of play the piano; but super talented family, we have a music studio in the basement), Chinese (those Chinese doughnuts though), homeschooling (the best way to go), aaaand probably more I'm forgetting. Oh! Families in ministry. My dad's not a pastor, but we have like a nonprofit family/church building ministry that he does full time.

Jesus is everything. Love connecting with people who have a passion for Him. And the writing part is an excellent bonus.

*nods in agreement with your pet peeve* Oh, yeah. It's a serious problem. Or when people forget their turn-signal...grrr.
Wait, what?? No coffee?? Starbucks is like the highlight of my life!! xD

  6. Awesome! Another Christian, homeschooled, country writer! They are not quite so sparse as I originally figured. Just found your blog through Abi Ellison. What sort of things do you like writing about? It's really cool to have a twin I think. I would have enjoyed that a lot growing up. xD

    1. Well, currently I am working on an action/adventure/mystery novel about a young man who comes to faith when his brother is killed while working for the FBI. I'm also planning a fantasy novel about another young man who determines to change the injustices in his society, though.
And being a twin is awesome. ;)

Oh, and this is totally random, but I'm the exact opposite of your personality. I'm an ISTJ. ;)

Hey! My bro plays guitar! That awesome, he's really good. Sometimes I go in his room while he's practicing and listen, but I mostly listen from my cave AKA my room.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hi, Jonathan! I just found your blog from a link on For the Bookish, and I have to say... I'm a little shocked!

First of all, I LOVE your blog already, but the funny thing is... you're exactly like a character in my most recent novel... You didn't jump out of my book and into reality did you? ;) Your name is different from his, but you are still soooo close!

Anyways, I kind of wanted to ask a favor. The character I was telling you about is from a manuscript I wrote during NaNoWriMo last November and I have hardly touched it since then. To be honest, it is really intimidating me. I am writing from that character's point of view (his name is Evan, by the way) and I am having a really hard time getting into his head. He's a writer (novels & poetry), has eight siblings, and is a Christian.

I was wondering if maybe I could ask you a few questions and maybe you could give me some advice writing from a writer-guy's point of view.

If you don't have time or are uncomfortable doing it, I TOTALLY understand! But if you are interested, you can email me via the contact page on my blog (abigailhayven.weebly.com)

Thanks for reading my crazy longwinded comment ;)

  28. ANOTHER EXTROVERTED BLOGGER YAYY. I've really been surprised because I'm actually finding other extroverted bloggers slowly but surely. It's pretty awesome. It seems like there's a lot of bloggers who are homeschooled and Christian and live out in the country XD haha I guess I'd fit into that category too except I'm not homeschooled anymore.

I'm hoping to learn to play the piano sometime. Currently I play the violin, but I'm hoping to eventually play more than just that.

Glad I found your blog! I've been attempting to find the bloggers' blogs who are on the Nano '16 hangout.

I am also a Christian, one of eight kids, live in the middle of nowhere on 60 acres, mildly sarcastic (aren't all teenagers?), use lots of parentheses because I'm proficient and rambling and run-on sentences, don't drink coffee, aaand, yeah, that's a lot of things we have in common! Homeschoolers rock!!!! I'm the oldest of six sibs, and as for ice cream; cookie dough and rocky road are at a tie, Baptist Christian, piano and violin-- WHOA WHOA WHOA! DUDE! I canNOT permit you to be the king of Hashtags. I'M ALREADY THE TYRANICAL RULER OF ALL HASHTAGS!!!!!
Major techy, but not in a geeky way... I'm a subtle techy. I hate HTML. CSS is so much easier for me. No idea why.
And while your MIDLY sarcastic, I'm MAJORLY sarcastic... a little TOO sarcastic. And YES!!!! I have NO IDEA WHY PEOPLE LIKE COFFEE!!! OH MY GOSH YOU LOVE EARL GREY TOO?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW?! Everyone's always like, "COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE!!!" And i'm like, seriously?! Though, I must admit, there is ONE coffee I like. Peppermint mocha. But honostly, I just buy the drink for the piles of whip cream and chopped peppermint! Honest!

Anyway, I hope you'll check out my blog if you get time! Have a fun day!
